  1. Screw head type and length — Photographed against a ruler, not guessed from memory.
  2. Washer presence — Missing washers let boards tilt and stress edge connectors.
  3. Torque feel — We note if screws bottom out early, which often means wrong length in a mixed fleet.

Practical takeaway

Before ordering hash boards, walk one full row with a printed screw chart. Mismatched fasteners are a leading cause of repeat failures after a successful swap—the new board seats unevenly and the VRM pad never mates cleanly.
